About Emily

Hi there!

So here is the part about me, who I am and what I do. I am 31 and studied Music at the University of Huddersfield. I am now living back in Lincolnshire where I am teaching and performing.

So where did it all start?

I have played clarinet from a young age and have always played piano on and off. During my time at Queen Elizabeth's High School I joined many of the music groups such as Junior Band. As I progressed through the school it became clear that music was my passion. I joined the school's Senior Band and the Lincoln Youth Orchestra and I worked my way up to principle clarinet in both ensembles. Later I had the opportunity to tour Germany with the Lincolnshire Youth Symphonic Wind Band and Italy with the Lincolnshire Youth Symphony Orchestra.

I have been lucky enough to expand my learning and adapt my musical knowledge to a range of instruments including one of my personal favourites; the bass clarinet. I teach a range of instruments including woodwind, vocals and piano in a range of styles and genres.

The first wedding I played at was my cousin's and I realised what a fantastic job it is, so that it where the wedding bug started I have now has the pleasure of playing piano, singing and playing clarinet/saxophone at weddings for over twelve years. I have the most wonderful time planning and performing the music for each couple's special day and often find new music and songs that I fall in love with!

I work for the Lincolnshire Music Service during the week which is one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had. Spending all my time making music with children really does not feel like work at all!
