About Me

Hi there!

So here is the part about me, who I am and what I do. I am 23 and I studied Music at the University of Huddersfield. I am now living back in Lincolnshire where I am teaching, performing and composing. So where did it all start?

My Musical Journey

I have played clarinet from a young age and have always played piano on and off. During my time at Queen Elizabeth's High School I joined many of the school musical activities such a junior band. As I progressed through the school it became clear that music was my 'thing'. I joined the school's Senior Band and Lincoln County Youth Orchestra and I worked my way up to principle clarinet in both ensembles.

I was always involved with school shows and the inter house music activities, also taking leadership roles during the later years at QEHS.

So what now?

I am currently teaching piano, clarinet and vocal lessons in the Gainsborough area. I am also performing at weddings and events as a pianist/vocalist around the country.

I perform as lead singer and keyboardist in the band New Limits who have played at the Lincolnshire Show and headlined events such as The Laughton Feast.

If you see me out and about please say hello!

During this time I had also developed my piano skills and was playing concerts to raise money for Help for Heroes alongside James Ramm. During 6th form I was accepted into the Lincolnshire Youth Symphonic Wind Band and was lucky enough to tour with them in Germany. A year later I was invited to tour with the Lincolnshire Youth Symphony Orchestra in Italy, an amazing experience I will always remember.

I also started to teach piano at this time to local youngsters whose teacher moved away from the area. I taught for around 3 years and students of different ages and abilities enjoyed lessons which focussed on playing great music. By the time I finished 6th form I had achieved Grade 8 piano and Grade 8 Clarinet with Distinction and was starting to play at events such as weddings and naming ceremonies.

My next challenge was a music degree from the University of Huddersfield. Here I refined my playing technique and focused my module around teaching allowing me to do two placements; the first with with the Lincolnshire Music Service where I shadowed a peripatetic teacher, and the second at Lea School where I observed and taught group music lessons. I have also ventured into the composing scene, creating sound installation pieces for my final portfolio.
